What's new in Year Glance
This month's update is a good one. We've shipped some of the most requested display improvements, added a faster way to create events right from the calendar, made a handful of quality-of-life tweaks, and resolved a collection of sync issues that were affecting some users. Here's what's new.
New features
New
Dynamic row height
Until now, every row in your year views was set to the same height as the busiest row on screen. That made for consistent spacing, but it also meant a lot of empty space when most of your year is relatively quiet.
Dynamic row height changes that. When enabled, each row sizes itself based on its own event load. A week with two events won't take up the same room as one with twelve. More of your year fits on screen, with less scrolling.
This works across all the year views.
Enable: Customise > Display > Dynamic Row Height

Fit horizontal view to screen
If you use the horizontal year view, you can now fit the entire year to your screen width in a single, full-width layout. No horizontal scrolling required.
This works on screens 1080px wide or larger. Below that, the view reverts to the standard layout automatically.

Add events by clicking a date
You can now create an event directly from the calendar. Click any date cell and tap the plus (+) button that appears. Year Glance will open a new event pre-filled with that date as an all-day event, ready for you to name and save.

Light formatting in event descriptions
The event description field now includes a basic HTML editor. You can apply bold or italic formatting and add links, making it easier to structure notes and reference external resources from within an event.

Cleaner monthly view when lead days are hidden
When you have Lead Days turned off in the year monthly view, those days no longer appear at all. Previously they showed as empty space at the start of each row.

Resolved a range of syncing issues
We've worked through a number of sync-related issues affecting both Microsoft and Google calendar connections. If you've been experiencing events not showing correctly, disappearing after navigation, or failing to update, this release addresses the most common causes. Things should be significantly more reliable from here.
What you need to do to get everything working correctly:
- Go to Calendars in Year Glance
- Click the red cross next to your Google/Microsoft account to disconnect it
- Reconnect your Google/Microsoft account
This ensures your events database is refreshed and working cleanly with the updated sync.
Coming up
A few things are in the pipeline, including custom branding for business plans, an affiliate programme, and the option to hide non-working days.
The biggest one on the horizon is multiple profiles. This feature is designed for users who maintain distinct calendar setups for different audiences — for example an executive view, an all-staff view, and a board view — all within a single Year Glance account.
Each profile will save a complete snapshot of your configuration, so you can switch between setups instantly without reconfiguring anything:
